My Experience in Nampo-dong

 

I have many good memories in Nampo-dong because I live near the place, so I always go there to play with my friends. My high school is even located near the place. It has everything to play, to do shopping, and to eat. When I was a high school student I liked to play with my friends, so after school finished I went here. We usually went to an internet café, singing room, and billiard hall. During that time, we were hungry, so we ate street-food. For example street-foods are tteokbokki, pajeon, and fried food. All of the foods were cheap, so we didn’t have money burdens. The foods were not only cheap, but delicious. I go here at present. Now I am adult, so if I meet friends, we go to a place that do a tasty food, and beer house. Many delicious retaurants are located in Nampo-dong. I recommend pig’s feet in pig’s feet alley. The restaurant’s name is Busan Pig’s feet. If you want to eat in there, you wait about 30 minutes. I and Nampo-dong are inseparable. Maybe I continuously go here. I want to make good memory in there for many years to come.

Research in Busan

Research in Busan

I will tell you a story about Busan. “Busan is located on the southeastern tip of the Korean peninsula, and natural environment of Busan is a perfect example of harmony between mountains, rivers, and sea” (Busan.go.kr). Busan is second city of South Korea. It has very famous tourist attractions. I will tell you about two famous places in Busan.

First place is Haeundae beach, the beach represents Korean beaches. “Waves invade the sands of the beach, refreshing completely your fatigued soul, of the beach, washing away all your troubles” (Busan.go.kr). If you want to stay here, it has seniority accommodations, for example hotels and condo. You can enjoy excellent recreational facilities and hot springs. In summer, many people come to place because they want to swim in the water, and enjoy water sports. You can also have fun, too. If you get hungry while doing anything, you can choose various foods, but I recommend seafood because Busan is well known for fresh seafood. You can experience amazing taste. Maybe you never forget things.

    Second place is Nampo-dong. A long time ago, “Busan was designated as the country’s temporary capital city and Nampo-dong was at its center. Since then people and cultures from other parts of the country have mingled here and this mingling has resulted in a harmonious diversity, among people of different backgrounds” (Busan.go.kr). It is very close to my house, so I always go there for engagement with friends. I like it there because it has various enjoyable play, and many foods. If you visit here, I recommend that you eat street-food. Many street-foods are located everywhere. I think pajeon is most delicious, so I often used to eat. If you want to look down at the city nightscape, you can visit Yongdusan-park because it has Busan Tower. “In this park, Busan Tower, an icon of the city, stands in stately glory” (Busan.go.kr). The night view of the beautiful Busan from the 120-meter-high observation deck is gorgeous and touching. I think Busan is most attractive and dynamic city. If you visit Busan, you won’t be sorry.

 

My Summer Vacation

I tell you story in my summer vacation. I like going to trip, so this vacation I went to Tokyo. When I was high school student, I went on school trip to Osaka, so I decide that I go to Tokyo this time. Tokyo is a capital of Japan. I went to trip with my friend. In august, Japan’s weather was very hot, so we thought visiting tourist site is difficult. Eventually, our trip’s purpose was enjoying good food. We always looked for a place that does a tasty food. I have chosen the best food is rice with frilled eel. This restaurant is been long about 270years. Its taste is indelible, so I surely want to go again. I also visited a hot-spring. Japan is well known for hot-spring. It is different from ours. I was put on yukata for the first time in that place. Yukata is Japanese traditional clothing. I don’t expect dress, but a dress fits nicely than I thought. After got hot-spring, we went to Tokyo-tower. It offered night view to us. That is very nice and beautiful. I am impressed on my memory now. If I visit there one more chance, I visit there in winter because Japan’s summer weather is very terrible. Thanks to this trip, my vacation is profitable, and helpful to me.

My Hometown

     My name is ParkJunSung, and I’m from Busan. I will introduce two famous places in

 

Busan. Fist place is Hae-un-dae beach. Maybe it is most famous beach in South Korea. If

 

you visit beach first, you can see beautiful seaside, many people, and high rise buildings. In

 

summer, everybody can go swimming, and enjoy water leisure sports. If you are hungry

 

while enjoy anything, it is a variety of food, but I recommend seafood with first priority

 

because the seafood is especially fresh, and tasty. Second place is Nam-Po-Dong. It is

 

prepared delicious food, varied spectacle, and shopping. This place is well known for Muk-

 

Bang. Muk-Bang means epicureanism travel, so if you visit here you will experience a

 

diversity of street-food. Among the street-food, I like pajeon, sweet rice, and sugar-filled

 

Korean pancake. Korean pancake is called Hotteok, and it is filled with sugar and seed. It is

 

most popular in street-food. Maybe you wait for 30minutes in street. I think that Busan is an

 

active city. That means best tourist attraction. Come and see some time!

Les Miserable

Les Miserable

I will introduce Cosette of Les Miserable. She lives in Montfermeil. When she was young, she was small and thin. As she grows up, she becomes tall and charming with her silky hair. Everyone loves her because of her beautiful smile. The only family member she has is her mother. She lives in poverty and only works under observation.

Her mother, Fantine, had to find work to earn a living. However, she knew that she would never be able to get a job with an illegitimate child. So, she sent Cosette to the Thénardiers, who turned out to be a cruel family who abused her, in Montfermeil. Cosette remained optimistic in spite of these circumstances. At one point in the story, Cosette had changed not only herself, but also her surroundings. For example on page 18 chapter 3 in this book, an event that changed her life occurred when Cosette met Jean Valjean. Valjean had an intimate acquaintance with Fantine, so he came to give Cosette a helping hand. With his help, she got out of the tyrannical care of the Thénardiers, and they moved to Paris. Before Cosette met Valjean, she was a dirty and unhappy child. After Cosette got under the care of Valjean, she ultimately blossomed into a lovely, well-educated young woman. If she didn’t meet Valjean, she might have lived an unfortunate life. Maybe she would have escaped from the Thénardiers, became a wanderer, and then died an untimely death. She took to Valjean as if he were her real father. Also Valjean loved her as if she were his own daughter. They were like a family, and they lived in peace. In the near future, Cosette meets a perfect man for her and marries him, since she is intelligent, beautiful, and good-hearted now.

     I think Les Miserable is one sad story. On the other hand, it is also a cheerful story. Both Cosette and Valjean grew up in an atmosphere of poverty and fear, however they live happy lives in the latter half of the story. For example, as mentioned above, they have turning points which have led them into fine lives. I also have turning points in my life. One of them is that I entered the military. I served as a conscripted policeman. I have changed a lot during the term of my military service. Entering the military has been a great help in my life, but I would never join the military again because of the repetitive daily life. I could hardly be free from anything. For this book, I could think of my turning points again.

The Elephant Man

     I will introduce Merrick in the book ‘The Elephant Man’. His name is Joseph Merrick, and his nationality is English. He has a very horrible and ugly appearance. His head is very big like an enormous bag with a lot of books in it, and his head I have much hair. His body is not so good. which is really the worst part. He is kind and good, but he has no friends because people laughed and were scared of him, so he couldn’t approach people. He has only one family, that is mother, but she part from him. He is always alone, so he is a very pitiful man.

     I thought The Elephant Man was happy because he got many friends. For example on page 22~34(chapter 5~6). Until he met Dr.Traves he couldn’t do anything, but his life completely changed. One of the many things that changed, he got many friends. A long time ago, he couldn’t go any place, where many people in were because people laughed and were scared of him. So, he couldn’t approach anybody. One day he met Dr.Traves, taking this opportunity he got great assistance. So, he received a lot of money, and became famous man in England. Soon other people came to Merrick first, and they helped Merrick go places and do things. He improved the quality of his life, eventually I think that he got a happy life.

‘The Devil Wears PRADA’ - Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway)

I am introducing Andrea Sachs in the movie ‘The Devil Wears PRADA’. Her name is Andrea Sachs, but people call her Andy. She is in her mid-20s, and she lived in the country. She has a father and a mother in her family. She has a boyfriend whose name is Nate. They are in love and are on cloud nine. She has a good figure and even a pretty face, but she has no fashion sense. She is very sociable, cheerful, and positive. With her personality, she has many friends.

Now, I am going to tell you about her story. She graduated from a prestigious university. She was the chief editor and received awards in her university, too. She was always full of self-confidence. She went to New York City to become a journalist and submitted her resume to a lot of media companies. However, she was rejected by most of the companies she applied to. Unexpectedly, she was called in for an interview from Runway. Runway is the best fashion magazine in the world. A lot of girls would die for the chance, but she did not. Even though the job is not the one she dreamed of, she just tries out for a success in New York. Better or not she passed the interview. She became a junior personal assistant to Miranda Priestly. Miranda is the chief editor of Runway. Miranda is very particular about what she does. She is also thorough and strict. She is an energetic workaholic. In order to satisfy and impress Miranda, Andrea exerted herself. As she spent increasing amounts of time in Runway, problems arose in her relationships with her college friends and her boyfriend, Nate. Soon, she broke up with Nate for a while. But then she realized that she wants to be a journalist, not a secretary, and she cannot give up her friends for a job that she didn't even want. So, she quit her work, and she applied to a media company again. Finally, she became a journalist easily because of her career at Runway. She got her old form back and got happy about everything. I think that she is great, because she has a strenuous effort. As a result of her efforts, she accomplished all the tasks that were given to her. I strike one proverb. That is ‘No sweet without sweat’. This proverb is a very good sentence.

In the future, she will be a successful woman like Miranda, because she closely resembles Miranda. She dating with Nate again, and will marry him. So, she will be a mother, which means she will have children. However, she will have no time to take care of her children. She is going to realize what is important in her life. Eventually, she will stop working, and will focus on her family. Andrea saw what happens when you choose your career over your family. Miranda got divorced, and she lost her family. Maybe Andrea doesn’t want that for herself. Soon, she is going to be happy with everything.

An Experience that Changed My Life

 My life changed about two months ago. That event was backpacking in Europe with my best friend. I trip to Europe for 22 days. I visited England, France, Swiss, Germany, and Italy. My trip was very tiring, difficult, and unfamiliar. However, I got to do so many things. First thing, made a new friend. During the trip,I met foreigner friends for the first time in my life. They were very kind and friendly. Sometimes, I  still get in touch with them. I can’t speak English well, but our communication is fairly well. Second thing, I experienced other culture. I traveled to many contries, but Europe is diffrent.

When I visited America, I felt freedom, greatness, and superiority. That is the same feeling in Europe, but European have conservative methods and most people go to Catholic church. Korean’s believe in a varitey of religions. In that sense, European have power of combination. Third thing is food, European’s staple is bread, but Korean staple is rice. I missed rice during the trip. I felt that I had improved significantly from my trip. I developed from my experience.

About My Friend

I’d like to tell you about my friend, Se Jin. He is also 24years-old, and lives in Busan. Fifteen years-ago, we first meet in elementary school. So, we went to the same middle school, and high school, but now we are at different university. He graduated from Korea Hae-Yang University. Maybe he will go out to sea for training. Because his major is related to ships. So he is not need to go army. Instead he go out of sea training during 3years. I envied him, but now I don’t because I already went to the army. He is a very good man because he thinks first of other people. Also I think that is very important. We are well and everything is right. So we are best friend. Our friendship is forever.

My-Introduction

My name is JunSung Park, and I’m a Dongguk University student. I am 24 years - old and I’m discharged from the military service. My major is Information and Communication Engineering. I live alone in Gyeongju, Korea. But when I lived in Busan, I lived with my family. My family is father, mother, brother, and me. My brother is already married. Also, I have an elder brother’s wife. My hobbies are skiing, listening to music, and dream of traveling to places. Last month, I dreamed of a trip to a new place. The place was Europe. I visited England, France, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. All of the countries are very wonderful. If I visit Europe again, I want to go skiing in Switzerland.

 Now I will talk about my dreams. My dream is to become a architect. Architecture is very important for building designs. Why is my dream to become a architect? Because my father also works in the building industry, and I will feel a sense of accomplishment when I see the finished buildings. Although I study different things now, I will study as soon as possible subjects related to architecture. I am running to my dream. I will continue my running.
